Student Politics
From my first term as an Undergraduate, I was involved in student politics. While was part of many student societies, and Common Rooms, my time in student politics was dominated by the Oxford University Student Union. For eight years, I had the honour to serve the students of Oxford, in one way or another, through this organisation. After having been involved with OUSU for a few years, I became interested in the National Union of Students (NUS). I quickly discovered it was incredibly difficult to find even the basic information one would expect from a democratic organisation - and realised I was not alone in wanting to make it easier for people to be able to engage with and change the NUS. I therefore set up the website TheyWorkForStudents, and later the Democrats and Reformists Network.
